This week’s episode is a little more of a history lesson, where I dig into the early stars of the Stax/Volt label. We get to hear Rufus Thomas, Carla Thomas, Booker T. and the MG’s, Albert King, Sam and Dave, and Otis Redding. On top of all that, you’ll get a little taste of how production worked at Stax, with people like Issac Hayes and David Porter taking the lead on artists like Sam and Dave or how the entire company would work together when Otis Redding came to town.
