Photo Essay: Walk in the Woods

Challenging times. It seems like stuff is coming at us from all directions, without letting up.

So I stepped out to clear my head. Nature, most always does the trick, though it’s challenging to escape the city easily. All these years in Chicago I found early and late winter the most challenging time, the trees are barren, the skies are gray and it feels I would have to take a day’s drive to actually be in Nature.

In a pinch the Skokie Lagoons had to do. Just walking through the woods, observing what’s at my feet and above my head provided momentary tranquility.

An afternoon walking close by, through a world far away, with whispers of childhood.
